The role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Piano Tutor and Accompanist to join our team in a casual position.
This position will work across the Sturt and Mair Street campuses and will involve tutoring and accompanying individual students Prep to Year 12.
The successful applicant will be an innovative and motivating tutor and musician, with experience tutoring and accompanying students of all levels from beginner to advanced. A passion for their instrument and the desire and ability to encourage and promote student involvement in the school's co-curricular ensemble program are also essential for this role.
All tutors at Clarendon are employed to provide the best possible education for each and every student. Tutors are expected to exhibit the highest standards of professional practice.
Tutors report to and operate under the general direction of the Head of Performing Arts and Head of Instrumental Music. Tutors interact with all areas and levels of staff as well as relevant external parties which often require discretion and confidentiality.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal Piano Tutor and Accompanist is an excellent team player and confident communicator who are fully committed to the school and its community, and will have:
- A commitment to students' social, emotional and intellectual development, including a strong understanding of the Child Safe Standards.
- Proficiency on their instrument, with the ability to model and guide students through quality instruction.
- Capacity to work in a high-performing team, including a willingness to seek and respond to feedback.
- Proven ability to monitor student progress, planning for and executing this in lessons.
- Proven ability to set and achieve goals, managing time and conflicting priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport with students, staff, parents and all other persons associated with Clarendon and the wider community.
